River Level on the Don
The is a river level gauge at Sprotbrough that ‘best’ represents the river level at the boathouse. It can be accessed with the link https://check-for-flooding.service.gov.uk/station/8349.
On this gauge a rough guide to the landing stages are:
1.1m the concrete landing stage goes under.
0.89m the wooden stage with the step goes under.
0.77m the main landing stage goes under.
The figures are a rough guide as weather conditions can vary each flood event. The gauge downstream of us, ‘Doncaster’ has a 36hr ‘forecasted’ level which is useful for ‘trending’ but is the other side of a weir and lock so is only indicative.
